It's completely insane. My work has made similar statements about supporting "diversity" and "community" and that we should respect the feelings of those affected by the No vote.

The hypocrisy is that a very diverse electorate rejected the proposal but that diversity doesn't count.

I think CEO's are fed lines of bullshit by those behind these agendas like ESG and diversity and because it's a KPI affecting their bonus they push it hard.

The true 'No' numbers are probably a lot higher.

I was thinking it's probably the best way to get away with "innocently" manipulating the outcome. Flip the Yes/No vote around and claim a single count of human error (Oops!), rather than adding votes that didn't exist or subtracting NO votes that were already counted.

What that confirms in SA is the corporation is not interested in democracy or the electorate.
A timely reminder for those still interested in voting, to always put the sitting member last.
