Translation help?

I know it's a long shot, but I figure there js a chance someone on here might be able to help translate this.
I think it might be Chinese, but maybe Japanese. I have no idea of Asian languages.
I brought this vase from an opp shop ages ago, It intrigued me cos of the Asian makers mark, not just ?make in china? or Japan or something.  And it's not your typical Asian design so far as I can tell.
Any help would be appreciated.

This is not simplified Chinese so I have been told! So it most likely antique. Dimensions of the vasse would help also.

Ooooohhh that sounds positive.
It's about 30cm tall and 13 maybe at the widest, I gave it to my sister for Christmas a few years ago.
She just has it sitting in a cupboard, she offered to give it back to me. lol, maybe I'll take her up on that.
