Thieves stole a haul of "priceless" silver military antiques by cutting through a museum's floor.

Staff at the Royal Lancers & Nottinghamshire Yeomanry Museum noticed a number of items were missing when they arrived at work on Sunday.

Among the items stolen from the museum, in Thoresby Park near Ollerton, are a distinctive parcel and gilt rosewater dish - said to be the sister piece to the Wimbledon women's singles trophy.

The Hurlingham Grand Military Polo trophy, statuettes of mounted soldiers and a cavalry trumpet were also taken.

Those cuts are unusual. Almost like they hid in the museum with tools and cut into the floor to escape.

Holesaw × 3 then the reciprocating cut and in the honey hole like a female dog on heat! Planed for sure inside knowledge. But who do you sell these objects to? Melt value is not worh the work .

But those three large hole saw cuts above the steel beam had to be done from above. Maybe they couldn't fit some of the items through the hole they initially cut and had to make it a little wider?

I don't imahine they have to sell it to anyone.

Someone probably paid the robbers specifically to steal that because they wanted it.
