Remember when FDR stole everyone’s gold BY FORCE?

April 5, 1933 - every gold coin, bar, and certificate - had to be surrendered to the U.S. Government or face 10 years in prison and a $10k fine ($179k in today's devalued dollars). But now, Texas is taking a stand - and is prepared to FIGHT in defense of “state’s rights” and the rights of the people!

Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

Seems to be some confused reporting there. Texas already established the Texas Bullion Depository. There was a bill in 2023 to enable Texas to develop a gold backed crypto with the backing gold to be stored in the depository, but the session ended before a floor vote was held. The bill is likely to be reintroduced in the next session (2025). More info:
