The United States Mint will not strike 2022 Morgan or Peace dollars, with Mint officials identifying silver planchet shortages as the reason for the cancellation of the planned coins.

I can't help but get the feeling that government mints are limiting production to reduce the overall investment demand for physical silver.
I don't buy into their excuses for a second.

the premium on eagles still cannot beat the Panda's  8)
its not easy to source silver from around the globe when many mines got shut down due to covid
and sanctions are also restricting the small marginal supply, so the flights restrictions are also restricting the transportation/delivery as well.
