Metal Casting

I'm getting all the equipment ready to do some sand casting of copper. So I'll 3D print some art work, then cast it.

3D printed my first model to try sand casting with. 1 to 1 size. Still sourcing the correct sand and bentonite clay. Making the flask to hold it all.

I did some silver bars yesterday, they worked great Then thought I'd try some copper, it did not work. It melted it, but a hard layer formed on the top so it wouldn't pour and couldn't stir it. It was late, I gave up and broke the crucible open this morning.

Stop it! Those pour lines are picture perfect. Was it shot or did u melt some coins/bars?

I am pretty stoked at how the lined turned out, there is issue with me not skimming the crucible properly, but it adds character.
They're leftovers shot I had from doing other things.
