I love Gold & Silver also for the mysteries that it has generated over thousands of years 
Everything from Sunken Spanish treasure ships, lost mines that have arm/leg thick veins of Gold running deep into the mountain, Hitler's Nazi train that supposedly was packed with Gold, Jewels & art treasures the was buried in a tunnel & then the entrances were blown up & every trace of the disguised. Whether all the Gold that is supposed to be in Fort Knox is actually there & if it is, who actually owns it now ? Even that the Titanic has a fortune in Gold & Jewels secretly taken on board so it could be safely held in the US because of the approaching rumor's of war in Europe.
There are an endless number of stories/rumors/conspiracies' that swirl around Gold & Silver. Because ( especially with Gold ) a vast fortune could be conceal or transported. U can slip an ounces ( $5000 + AUD ) into that little money pocket & just walk around with it. ( I did this myself recently. I had 3 oz of Gold in that little pocket as I rode my Harley to the Gold/Silver dealer. At 100:1 GSR, I swapped those 3 oz for 300 oz of silver 1 oz coins. But I needed my backpack to carry home that nearly 10 Kg of silver

I have seen some fantastic reports of Gold/Silver finds over the years. Like this in my home state of Victoria. ( I have actually been to this area ) The 66kg 'Welcome Stranger', then the world's largest-known gold nugget, was taken to Dunolly where it had to be broken on an anvil before it could fit on the bank's scales. It was worth 10,000 pounds - around $3-4 million in today's money. 66 Kg Gold Nugget

Edit: is to update the value of the Gold in the nugget. The story must be a bit old. I just copied & pasted it. The Value of the Nugget at today's prices. This is the price per gram from the dealer that I have purchased from in the past. Their price per gram in oz form - $166.92 ( that's today's price )
So $166.92/gram X 66,000 grams for the Nugget = $11,016,720 AUD that's an impressive Nugget.
