Welcome to Golden West Bullion. This round is not related to the forum at all, rather its a tribute to the original Silver Roo.

The plan for GWB is to release ultra low mintage collectable small silver rounds. They are not cheap compared to their silver content but you have to consider the cost includes all the tooling which is not cheap and the very limited number of pieces produced. The idea is that these rounds will become highly collectable in the future due to their tiny mintages.

The first release is the 10 gram 999 silver "mini" Silver Roo. The design is a nod to the original 100 gram Silver Roo released in 1975 by ANZMEC. Each pieces comes with a hand numbered certificate. ONLY 100 PIECES MADE + 2 for my archives.

Each piece costs $50 + postage at cost (from $4)
There is a limit of 10 pieces maximum per order.1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg4.jpeg

That series 1 stamp has me a bit nervous of going all in! I have been farkedover by the Perth Mint with dragons. 10 grams at $50! Ouch

Yes nearly $20 per coin of that cost is just in tooling costs. The tooling cost is the same if I make 100 or 1000 so really small issues are always going to be expensive. The series 1 was how it was originally issued in 1975. There won't be a series two.

Sure what was their mintage back then? 100gms v a 10gms now? I understand the limited mintage crap and all that now versus the price of silver at each interval. But $50 for 10g really?

But $50 for 10g really?
If I want low premium I'd go for bars. These rounds are very much a niche market.

Back in 2015 my young son wanted a 1oz 'Back to the Future' round with the plastic car. I told him it was too expensive at $140, but he ignored my advice and got it anyhow. They now sell for $488 on fleabay. So it's a better return than the low premium silver bars I purchased at the same time. Moral of the story is don't underestimate collectables.

10 grams for $50 is no different than 1oz for $150. Anyway they are selling ok so I'm not worried. If you knew the profit margin on these, you would wonder why I even bothered but I like creating unique items.
Ok I bend to that. And respect it too. By the way how many do you have left Oz?

I've found 2 varieties in the Original Roo 100 gram round.
1 with a single star and 1975 date on back
2nd with 2 stars and no date on back.
