First attempt at casting copper bars

Apparently you've gotta heat the fk out of those moulds to get a good pour. You'll probably need two torches for the larger one. What size is that anyway? Looks like a 100oz or 5kg.

The bigger one is just under 2kg of copper when full. The mold is tapered which makes for a nicer bar.

I've got a gas torch to pre-heat the molds. It takes a few minutes to get them to glow red, then I pour.

Very impressive. How are you sourcing your copper scrap?

We all think the premiums for silver are crazy, but the premiums for copper bars are astronomical. If you have a good source of premium grade copper scrap and find a way to sell them, it's a license to print $$. Or even better, trade copper bars for silver and it's like your paying 2001 prices for silver again.

The molds are sitting on a paver. The molds are being preheated outside per position in pics. Normally preheat them till I see a dull glow.

I just finished another batch tonight. These turned out much better than previous pours.

Yer copper is a Tonnage game not a ounce of Kg bar thing, its crazy people pay that sort of cash for copper, But you are correct I see idiots on social media boasting off their over priced bars they paid a fortune for thinking it is an investment. you should sell them while there is a still a demand from people with too much money to blow on fairly useless copperbars

bored alternative crypto nerds who have too much money, the type who dont understand Physical metal, they think they have missed the bus on silver and gold so they think they are getting in early on Copper lol. Problem is Copper is a tonnage game, you buy tonnes not Kg's lol Ive been on facebook forums of these fools thinking hey are buying legit investments with those bars. They are crypto ding bats who dont understand metal and think its like the crypto market, they seriously think they are going tobe able to pump copper by paying to much for kg bars, lol sell them the bars while they still have the money IMO, in 60000 years they might break even on their investment, Now if they showed me 20 wool bails full of copper pipe off cuts they bought at say a few dollars a Kg id be like great investment for the future, But 20kg in bars they paid $200 a KG on ahahaha yer you aint getting rich of that bro lol you got ripped off
