Blast from the past

Lime green slr please.
Saw one of those monaros in that colour in a shed somewhere between Cobar and Melbourne once. Was prob the most modern thing in that shed.

The price of portable computers back in the day. Imagine how much if priced in gold.

The $11,000 one would have been approx 30.5 oz of gold in 1989. Almost 1kg. That's $147,095 AUD at today's prices.

It's funny, I just traded a high end workstation laptop on here that cost the original owner $4500+ in 2020. In 2020, the price of gold in Australian dollars (AUD) averaged around $1,773.73 per ounce so the computer cost 2.5 ounces in gold just 5 years ago. I just traded it for a 1/10th oz gold coins and I gave the person the computer and a little bit of change. Guess computers are not a good long term investment. I would only ever buy computers second hand!
