BlackRock & Aladdin (or why I don't touch shares)

I bought some mining shares yesterday. Strangely Blackrock is not one of the top shareholders in one of the companies I bought. Anyway, the shares were up 7.03% at the end of yesterday and are up 13% in total today.

When I wound down my SMSF, I dumped it all into a managed fund that allowed me to allocate it to gold / silver ETFs, and shares in the larger gold / silver miners.

I really don't expect to ever see any of my super. I expect the gov will find a way to extract it well before I ever retire. Only if I die early will my family get it. But it'll be interesting to see where the miners go.
