If the ATO is as useless as the fraud fusion task force who over looks and investigates Those who rip of the NDIS, (Which I think it likely is these days) so I dont think we have much to worry about with our gold and silver, the ATO ten years ago might have been a bit more efficient than they are these days lol, like every government department since covid that seems to no longer seems to give a fuck about corruption, they dont seem tobe watching By design, If they looked they would see those poli's and their billionaire mates ripping off the system lol. I feel its like when the police say they are going to crack down on crime, and then you look around and there are no police in 2026. where the fuck are they? they used to be around doing patrols, nope rob a granny and your sweet these days. so yer Id say gold is safe from ATO or the fed police, understaffed and useless, Honestly I dont think the government these days actually cares about rorts, or crime of any types.

so do politicians and under world criminals who seem to run this country these days. fucken hell you be a biker and can setup a tabacco shop ripping $5b a year from the tabbaco tax, put neon lights above the shop selling vapes and shit and asking 100% cash sales, and the ATO aint shutting them down lol, shit it was qld health that made an attempt that in qld. lol ATO doesnt seem to interested about that, not that I care just using that as a point the ATO aint doing nothing about tax rippoffs, They dont really do much at all from what i can see. they only target those who lodge tax each year and get something wrong or try and sneak an extra $200 in their income returns lol, and thats only because the computer found the mistake not them lol So yer I think gold and silver is safe, they fucken too lazy, under staffed and useless, and Likely by design, to aid the crims and polis with their rip offs.
Id be fine with an ATO that fucks over people who rip it off, BUT first we need a tax system that is fair, and Politicians who stop wasting the money. then Im fine with ATO being a good arm of government.

If that's going to happen anyway, we may as well enjoy some of the same privileges. But it doesn't work like that. The ATO loves to target mums and dads because they're under resourced and their scare tactics are very effective, while they let the big fish get away with financial murder.
True story :- My foreman at work did his& his wife's tax returns. He checked them a bit later & realised he used his wife's net income instead of gross income. He contacted the ATO & informed them.
The called him back & informed him that he owed more money & would receive a fine ( $700 in 1996 ) He said " but I told u about the mistake ". They said if they had found the mistake the fine would have be double

ARSEHOLES !I have this new theory over the last 2-3 years, that They know they went to far with policing shit under covid, and they went to far with restrictions of shit, so Now they doing the opposite, lettign shit go bad, removing policing almost all together, and allowing corruption to go rampant, I mean look around these days its a fucken fun park these days you can do anything, the crims are being allowed to ripp off any government department they want, they can fucken do what ever they want to people in the street and there is no police around, and if they do happen to be unlucky enough to find a copper who is wanting to to their job and arrest the crim they get let go by the courts, its looking imo a lawless wasteland this country, we call it being to woke but Im starting to think they want society to eat it self, look how angry people are towards each other these days, its crazy, I feel like Im in the first mad max movie where everything looks normal, people trying to live life as things are normal ignoring the crims run around destroying the place and being allowed to by lack of real law enforcement. 5 minutes for the fucken wasteland of the second movie lol. seriously go down the streets beat some one up, you aint getting in trouble for that any more, and they opened the flood gates for terrorists and migrants to add to the insanity, so yer I dont think they care about corruption even in the ATO now, I think they doing the opposite to what they did during covid they letting it go to shit By lack of law and order. and every one seems tobe fine and going along with it.

my theory as said above they allowing us to eat as much as we can, we are currently fat pigs being fed at the trough and they allowing us to take as much as we want right now, then they will rthen one day stop filling the trough and we become totally reliant on government because society has crashed, they allowing us tobe as corrupt as we want, they went to far with covid and their rules they trying the exact opposite, look how easy it is right now tobe totally fucken corrupt.

I personally dont think any government agency gives a fuck right now including the ATO, they have bigger plans than that, But yer just like the cops they pick on some easy target to make it look like they doing their job but thats it.

they got digital currency in mind they dont care if our financial system or government crashes under our current fiat system which is why they dont care about government debt or inflation, havent you noticed they dont seem to really give a shit about those things? why bother worrying about tax collection lol let the pigs eat till they cant move on their own. and lets be honest they know none of us have enough gold and silver to live on for ever if the system was to fail.
