An article I read recently was still implying that each panel contained up to 20 grams of silver.
This is absolute nonsense! That might have been the case 20 years ago however solar panel technology has advanced so far that nowadays silver is almost non-essential in the manufacture of solar panels.
Currently, scientists at the UNSW have reduced the amount of silver needed to below 1 gram a panel and are in the process of going all copper.
