Does a gold Krugerrand have the same magnet properties that a .999 gold coin has? I have heard it does not, that a magnet has zero attraction.
Anyone know???

No.  A gold Krugerrand has a small amount copper in it and while copper is not really magnetic it does have some magnetic properties.

I just got one from a local dealer. It passed all tests, as far I know but one. My calipers are not spot on accurate, and measured 32.67 mm, (actual 32.77)
My scales are kitchen scales, and it weighed 34 g. (actual 33.93)
The only thing that didn't seem right, is the magnet showed no resistance at all. I compared to a 999 gold coin, and it had resistance.
OK, so I just tried it on a Double Eagle and it is 90% gold and 10% copper, and it had no resistance either.
I feel a bit better, tho I may hit another coin shop and have them check it. I do like piece of mind.

Whereabouts are you? I'm in Brisbane and I have a Fisch tipper I'd be happy for you to use. The scales are why I like Krugerrands & Sovereigns. I can test them and be satisfied that I got what I paid for.

I bought a copy 1oz Krugerrand and there is NO WAY you could mistake it for the real deal. No way at all.

I'm in the US... so it would be a bit of a drive... I did download a coin tester app for my phone, and it showed it to be real as well. I want one more oz of gold, and there is a coin shop right up the street, so may buy a coin there (if he has decent prices) and get him to check it at the same time.
Thanks for the offer...

Your local bullion / coin dealer *should* have an XRF machine. Just ask them to test your coin saying that your other half was concerned.

Here's something you may want to look at getting https://thegoldlock.com/

But personally I really like having the Fisch https://www.thefisch.com/
