October 1959. "Pilot and auto test driver Betty Skelton at McDonnell Aircraft Corp., St. Louis. She is undergoing a multitude of physiological tests to assess her fitness to become an astronaut." 35mm Kodachrome by Bob Sandberg for the Look magazine assignment "Girl Astronaut -- Lady wants to orbit."

February 1943. "Looking up an assembly line at Ford's big Willow Run plant in Michigan, where B-24E (Liberator) bombers are being made in great numbers. The Liberator is capable of operation at high altitudes and over great ranges on precision bombing missions. It has proved itself an excellent performer in the Pacific, Northern Africa, Europe and the Aleutians."

Ford Australia cars were mostly British models, such as Zephyrs and Consuls. The Falcon was introduced and it took direct aim at General Motors Holden products. There were a few "Yank Tanks" around, and the 1959 Fairlane 500 would have been in that category. This Kodachrome was taken on what appears to be a tour of Ford dealers, as Coates Motors was located in Bairnsdale, 280 km east of Melbourne. There is a rain deflector on the driver's side window -- Victoria state law still required hand signals.
