I would bet that they have " persuaded " a refiner to do them a little work on the side
& once it's refined into ingots/bars, it's totally untraceable.
They end up with a few tons of refined ingots/bars to stash away for a rainy day
a standard 400 oz bar is worth roughly $2,000,000 AUD & very easy to stash/hide.
