Hi all.

What's the skinny with the 2012 Perth Mint Lunar Series II Dragons? Is there no love for them? I have in my trading stash mostly 1/2oz a handful of 2oz and a single 5oz. The only 1oz I have is in my collector stash but TBF because I missed a few it might be a bit to expensive for me to collect the full set for mere sake of collecting.

I do have an interest in trading them or selling them to acquire 2022 Perth Mint Tiger / Kooka with extra ounces. Or am I crazy

I bought a fair number of 2oz and 5oz for about spot in 2018. Harder to move than expected. Lunars have kind of tapered off and chinese covid probably hasn't helped. Maybe also Perth make too many different dragony things.

I think the lunar hype is gone and forgotten. All the newcomers to this metal game just want cheap silver or gold.S1 is still a winner but hard to get the premium you want.S2 is dead-very hard to move and the premium is not there anymore. However there are some s2 dragons which command a big premium-2oz and 5oz colored ones.Good luck to find one:)

The 2012 dragon lost premium due to the Luna Dragon privy . Perth Mint has lost  all credibility in the Luna  products due  to their blow out mintage of privy crap  and the all time high of silver prices
The Luna series. its now dead because of it.  Stack ten ounce bricks  and gold

Dang.

Thanks for reminding me about that. It brings back memories of everyone grabbing dragons by the handful then the Perth Mint being both short sighted and greedy throwing on privy marks to get around their mintage limits. I recall everyone being very angry and fatigued.

Must still be lunar collectiors. Just looked at ebay and oxs and tigers still command a fair premium in 2oz. 1oz trending toward bullion.

Brisbane Bullion is asking $165 for Series II Tiger in 1oz and $160 for the Series II 1oz Dragon

I got very excited when I saw those prices. I have rolls of them....... Checked my stash I most certainly DON'T have piles of them. In fact I have one of each for my personal collection. It was like I got punched in the guts because I used to have heaps of them.  :'(

Over on Silver Stackers a roll of 1/2 ounce Dragons can't even match the price for current issue 1/2 ounce Tigers. I'm hoping whomever was responsible for this debacle at Perth Mint got a serious talking to

Not that long ago someone must have sold rolls of 2oz dragons to Ainslie. On their website they were asking same as new ox price.

Looking to the future I think lunars might still command premiums but in gold, not silver. The gold designs look pretty solid to me. The silver look like they were phoned in.
